Last Day in London!

First of all, thanks, guys, for joining us on this trip, hope it was a good one!

Second, if you get a chance this summer, you really should check out the movie Shakespeare in Love.

Third,  a few pics of the Globe and the Tower of London, and a link with an interactive Globe interior pic:

Interactive Globe Theater

Finally, a few questions (You don't need to answer these question by question, they are just suggestions to get you thinking):

1. What was the best part of this trip?

2. What did you enjoy more: the guided tour, scavenger hunts, roleplays, or just walking around? What was best for your English?

3. What things do you remember the most strongly?

4. Did you learn a lot of English? What sort of things?

5. How could we use this tour to help students learn, and USE, more English? Any ideas?

5. If you could do this virtual tour your way, how would you do things differently?

6. Anything else you'd like to comment on?

Thanks, guys!!!!! Bye! --Molly

I really enjoyed touring around and learning about the history of England. I believe that I've learned more about London on this series of tours than I've ever had in history class. I also learned a lot of English terms and new words that wouldn't have made sense to me before.
The very first tour we did left a biog impression on me. I didn't know that through using google street view one could see cities so clearly, just like a was actually there!

What's so much better about doing tours in google street view instead of simply learning English through a book is that by being able to see things for them selves, students relate better to new ideas, new words, and new cultures. For example, I wouldn't really understand what an Elizabethan style building looked like just from reading a discretion in a text book. But after touring, I know exactly what it's like. The excitement of seeing a different country without have to spend the money to go abroad also increases student's eagerness top want to learn more.
All in all, this has been a great experience, and I've learned so much about London. I also appreciate it more than I've ever had! Now I want to go there and see it for my self.

Sorry, please ignore the comment above, I forgot to delete the questions.

1. What was the best part of this trip?
Get to see all the beautiful scenes in London.

2. What did you enjoy more: the guided tour, scavenger hunts, roleplays, or just walking around? What was best for your English?
guided tour, scavenger hunts

3. What things do you remember the most strongly?
I remember one time we visited several parks such as Green Park and St James's Park. I really like the view there, so relaxing and beautiful.

4. Did you learn a lot of English? What sort of things?
I've learned how to guide people to go to the certain place. However, I had hard time remembering street names.

5. How could we use this tour to help students learn, and USE, more English? Any ideas?
I think teacher can ask a student to act like a tour guide. For example, start from a train station, and the student has to take other students to a certain tourist spot.
They can walk there, and the student can introduce things they see to other students on their way there.

5. If you could do this virtual tour your way, how would you do things differently?
I think I'll pretty much do the same things as you did.

6. Anything else you'd like to comment on?
The course is very interesting, but since that I'm not really interested in history, I prefer to see more things like the Twinings, pubs, and famous restaurants.
